Bonfire night, fireworks, the countdown to Christmas; November comes with lots to look forward to (cue Mariah Carey). As we approach the end of the year, the temperature is beginning to drop and almost all of us are starting to dig out our winter wardrobe. This means you might have recently discovered a mountain of discarded gloves at the back of a wardrobe, a pile of scarves that you never wear and a mismatched collection of hats that never see the light of day. What if we told you that you could turn your spare items of winter clothing into a free cocktail?

Read on to discover how…

How do I join in?

From Monday 6th – Friday 17th November, donate your spare items of warm winter clothing. We’ll exchange them for a Banana Manaña cocktail as our way of saying thank you.

Head to your local bar with your hats, gloves, or scarves and hand over to a member of our team. Then sit back and sip your cocktail.

Who am I helping?

We are donating all items to a local homeless charity chosen by your nearest bar. Have a look at a couple of selected organisations below:

Revolución de Cuba Southampton, Society of St James

The Society of St James is Hampshire’s leading homelessness charity and helps vulnerable people experiencing homelessness, problems with alcohol and substance use.

They provide personalised support and services such as drug and alcohol recovery, specialist support and accommodation, education, health and wellbeing.

Visit their website to find out more and donate: https://ssj.org.uk/

Revoluciòn de Cuba Manchester, The Mustard Tree

The Mustard Tree support people experiencing homelessness and create opportunities for them to help themselves through practical support, friendships and connections.

Visit their website to find out more and get involved: https://mustardtree.org.uk/

Make sure to ask the team at your local bar about the charity they’ve chosen and how your donation is helping the local community.

From Cuba with GLove & Discarded Spirits

We’re encouraging our guests to donate their unwanted winter garments instead of throwing them away, bolstering Discarded Spirit’s mission to reverse needless waste and joining them in their efforts to inspire environmental progress.

Our Banana Manaña cocktail includes their delicious Banana Peel rum, which is made from just that. Banana peel extract gives flavours of toffee and a fruity kick. No gloves needed here, it’s sunshine in a glass.
