ChristmasThe 5 greatest Christmas parties of all time

If there’s one thing we know how to do, its throw an U.N.F.O.R.G.E.T.T.A.B.L.E. Christmas fiesta, Cuban-style.

Forget traditional Christmas parties. We’re bringing you ALL the tropical vibes with infectious Latin-inspired music, tasty Cuban treats and more mouth-wateringly delicious cocktails than you can shake your maracas at. We give ol’ Havana a run for its money.

But, even we have to say, this list of epic Christmas parties take the festive spirit to a whole new level. So get ready for some insane tinsel-covered, snowflake-filled extravaganzas with tonnes of Christmas sparkle.

(Spoiler alert: one includes a giant blue whale. And, what?)

1. The one with the seven deadly sins

Way back in 2000 (when no-one batted an eye if banks threw lavish Christmas parties for their employees), Bloomberg splashed out a cool £1 million on a party inspired by the seven deadly sins. This shindig was also hosted at the Natural History Museum – before it was cool, so the photos are a little #ThrowbackThursday (did we say a little?).

The festive celebrations came complete with a gluttonous truffle and sweet bar, indulgent neck-massages, nail manicures, a casino, and even a lust-room. Ooh-err. The place was filled with hundreds of actors, from toy soldiers to Tinseltown’s most famous faces.

2. The one with Jennifer Aniston

Ok, so technically Jennifer Aniston wasn’t there in person. But reportedly her waxwork lost a finger when an ‘undisclosed’ financial firm hosted its Christmas party at Madame Tussauds in London.

And that wasn’t even the biggest scandal – two of the waxworks were allegedly robbed of their heads as well. Pretty wild, right? We’re still wondering if Jen-An ever got that pinky back…

3. The one with the blue whale

In 2007, UBS threw a real-life ‘night at the museum’ party at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

Although Ben Stiller was conspicuously absent, the festivities were still pretty awesome, with guests enjoying a decadently huge feast, plus a giant blue whale and dinosaur bones for company.

4. The one the Beatles, the Hells Angels, and a giant turkey

Back in 1968, Apple Records threw an epic Christmas party at their headquarters on Savile Row, complete with John Lennon dressed as Father Christmas, Yoko Ono as Mother Christmas, and a 43lb roast turkey.

George Harrison even invited a chapter of Hells Angels all the way from California, who were passing through ‘on their way to straighten out Czechoslovakia’, according to a memo circulated by the late Beatle. He helpfully added ‘They may look as though they are going to do you in but are very straight and do good things, so don’t fear them or up-tight them.’ Sound advice there, George.

5. The one with the upside down living room

Dyson’s 2013 Christmas party went down in history for its quirky topsy-turvy theme, complete with an upside-down living room bar, robotic bird and a burning water hydrant.

Employees were encouraged to show up in their own engineered fancy dress creations, which included a group ‘roller coaster’, a genuinely flying pig and a robotic sleigh, with the most inventive crowned the winner by Mr James Dyson himself.

Want to have an absolutely EPIC Christmas party? Er, YES.

While we can’t guarantee fossilised beasts or gravity-defying decor, we sure do know how to throw a fiesta here at Revolución de Cuba.
